OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT VALLEY TOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS BOARD OF REVIEW OF TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2009.
The Grant Valley Town Board of Supervisors met for their yearly Board of Review on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Grant Valley Town Hall.
Board Members present were Hiltz, Boyer, Rauch and Schmidt.
Duane Ebbighausen and Bob Seado were also present.
Fall of 2007 through now is what the values are going off of.
Gerald Miller was present and was concerned with his acreage. He has only 5 acres of high ground and the rest is swamp. Duane told him he wouldn't be able to go any further and that he didn't even know how he got as low as he was at already. The other parcel he asked about has some wasteland also. Duane recommended putting a 50% reduction factor on half of that land. The reduction amount would be $12,877.00.
Randy Gregg was present and was concerned about anything going up at this time in the economy. The total value on his actual property went down. He also has a large portion of swamp land and he was asking if that was valued that way as well. No action was taken.
Ellen Lidinsky was present and was concerned why her 10 acres was so much more value than the 40 she has as it was all one contiguous chunk. Duane recommended that it be listed as all one parcel. So the reduction amount would be $10,820.00. The other parcel she was wondering about the low land and it was valued that way already.
Prescott Larson was present and lives on Whisperwood. His road is bad and the grader didn't get down his road yet and he wanted the board to know that. He feels his property is valued too high. Duane explained some information to him. No action was taken.
Jeff Roberts called Assessor Seado on his 5 duplexes in Hidden Valley and comparable assessments were viewed and it was felt the assessments were too high. Assessor Seado recommended that all of them but one with an extra garage be dropped to $175,000.00. There is also a lot where Jeff Roberts' house is that a piece of property was valued too high and it was recommended to be reduced by $11,800.00 in value.
David Hansen also called and had a plotting error of too much square footage. It was recommended by Duane to decrease his value by $32,900.00.
Supervisor Boyer made a motion to accept all the changes as listed above and recommend by the Duane Ebbighausen and Bob Seado. Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous roll call vote.
Supervisor Boyer made a motion to adjourn. Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous voice call vote and meeting was adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Angela Schmidt,
